The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) says it has seized fake drugs and food items amounting up to N3.28 million.
Punch reports that this was made known in the Jigawa office of the administration.
Mr. Olakunle Olaniran, the director of NAFDAC in the state said the agency confiscated the items within the last three years in Dutse, the state capital and other neighbouring towns.
The items which include sugar, spaghetti and vegetable oil were either fake or adulterated goods.
The director said the agency was still waiting for approval from the national headquarter before proceeding to destroy the goods.
Olaniran said the fake drugs were oxytocin injections, gentamacin injections, sudrex tablets and augmentin syrup.
Recently, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) shut down a Lagos based mall for selling counterfeit wines and spirits to the general public.
