The media is awash with news that a former military administrator of Kaduna State, Colonel Hamid Alli (rtd) is currently undergoing State Security Service screening in preparation for his appointment as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Alli, 60, from Kano State was at one time the secretary of the revered northern group, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Newswatch reports.


He was also a prominent figure in the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) but fell out with the gap-toothed general over the annulled June 12 1993 elections.
Alli reportedly retired from the army and government unceremoniously without money or any traceable scandal and he is also into poultry farming and still drives a 504 Peugeot saloon car.
According to insiders in the All Progressives Congress (APC), many corrupt politicians who have gotten hint of Alli’s imminient appointment, are already panicking and have started the process of returning looted funds.
Alli’s appointment won’t come as a surprise to many who are familiar with newly sworn in President  Buhari says he is an admirer of Alli’s life style,
Buhari had made the fight against corruption one of the cardinal points his administration, as such, it is expected that he will source for the best hands and whoever he appoints will be a key figure in his administration.

Meanwhile, former Adamawa State governor, Murtala Nyako on Monday, surrendered to the anti-graft agency for interrogation over money laundering charges against him.
