AFCON: 13 Pros Expected In Camp Before Deadline

AFCON: 13 Pros Expected In Camp Before Deadline
Coach Stephen Keshi.
Reports have it that 13 out of the 15 invited foreign players to prosecute Nigeria’s June 13 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad will hit camp before deadline.
Speaking during a Sports programme on Channels Television earlier today, Toyin Ibitoye,
media officer of  Nigeria’s super eagles, disclosed that Ahmed Musa and Aaron Samuel are the only players given pardon to resume later as they have pending issues to deal with.
He said: “Aaron Samuel is still playing with his club in China, while Musa was given permission to sort out family issues in Russia. The players have been training in the morning everyday, but from today, training will start from 4pm today at the Abuja national stadium ahead of the game next week Saturday.
“The coaches say the players are already fit and in their own wisdom, believe that the players should not be overburdened with too much training. The foreign players have also come from a long season, that is why they are not going to go into a lot of training”.
Nigeria’s chief coach, Stephen Keshi retained eight local players which he intends to prosecute the first phase of the 2017 Afcon qualifier which is scheduled to hold in Kaduna on Saturday, June 13.
Just recently, Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel reportedly snubbed the national team as the coach disclosed that the player refused to pick calls put across to him.
