Court Sends Woman To Prison For Slicing Rival’s Face

Observers at a Lagos Magistrate Court were stunned after a 22-year-old woman, Mary Atiake was reprimanded for allegedly slicing her rival’s face with a razor blade.

According to a report on Daily Post, Atiake was remanded in prison custody pending when her bail condition appears.
In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, granted her bail in the sum of N10,000 with two sureties in like sum but ordered that she should be incarcerated in Kirikiri Prison.
Atiake, who is a daughter of a senior police officer serving in the state, allegedly pounced on her rival, Sarah Ogunyemi, whom she met in her lover’s house at Olowo Close in Igando area of the state.
It was gathered that Ogunyemi was said to have bled copiously following the attack and was rushed to Igando General Hospital where she is receiving medical attention.
Atiake was reported at Igando Police Division and was subsequently apprehended.
The accused was said to have accused Ogunyemi of being responsible for her unstable relationship with her lover identified as Joe.
Atiake however pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against her.
The magistrate, Nwaka adjourned the case till 29 July, 2015.
