An explosion has just gone off outside the Federal High court I, Port Harcourt, where Justice Lambo Akanbi made a crucial ruling this morning.
The Justice in his ruling said the decision of the Amaechi-led administration to go ahead with the conduction of the council election on May 23 was a flagrant abuse of court process and disregard for rule of law.
Akonbi said that the election defiled the rule of law because it was conducted despite court order asking all parties to maintain status quo.
Speculations have it that the explosion outside the court premises might have been a reaction to the ruling.
Details of the incident are still sketchy.
Current reports say that no casualty has been recorded.
A source says that there is heavy presence of security men at station road where the High court is located.
