The administration of former president Olusegun Obasanjo built the chapel as a place where the president or the vice president that is a Christian worships.
If the president or his vice is a Christian, he automatically becomes the political head, while the president or vice president’s chaplain becomes the spiritual head.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan would have handed over the chapel to Osinbajo penultimate Sunday when he attended service in the worship centre for the last time but Osinbajo was absent at the service.
Osinbajo was sworn in as vice president on May 29, Friday. President Muhammadu Buhari and Osinbajo reportedly declared their assets as they submitted their declarations to the Code of Conduct Bureau 24 hours before the inauguration ceremony held on May 29.
