Nigerians have asked that a proper check be carried out on the woman who reportedly stabbed her three-year-old son to death in Ogun state.
Naij.com had published an article on Funmilayo Adeyanju, who was said to have stabbed her son on the head and other parts of his body before leaving him to die on Wednesday, May 27 and our readers on Facebook reacted in varying fashions to the story.

While some disbelieved the report, several others were irritated by the purported act and asked for a proper check to be carried on the woman because they believe that no sane woman would deliberately kill her child irrespective of his offence.
Some readers also hurled abusive words on the woman, noting that she must be made to face the law, others want her to be killed and not spared because her crime was murder.
Cindy Harvey Chioma Chioma, one of our readers, wrote: “the thunder wey go fire her still dey Adeola’s shrine dey do pressup. Useless woman”, Omolabake Abisola Akinbode averred that “even a street mad woman protects her child! Bi aja ba nsiwin,a moju ina (even when a dog is insane, it recognises fire)!
Simply put, Ado Danasabe Daniya said: “She is mad”, a commented which was corroborated by Abbagoni Usman who also called her a “Bad mother” and Bunmi Olowoyeye leaving a short “Patheticstatement in the comments’ box.
Tolulope Ayomide Nifemi, another reader, was quite dramatic in his response with the comment:“#Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa just because of what?????ma,may God have mercy on you #your eyes don open abi and you call herself Mummy and cannot control your #Angry”.
In another comment, Afolabi Femi wrote: “She is possessed, witch of the east end”, Modupe Faith, in her comment, argued that: “She might be having psychological problem” just as Emoghene Evlyn noted: “I don’t believe”.
Christabel Brenda Sanni  wrote: “Useless mother!” Ada Ada, in a rather spiritual comment, wrote: “adding sin to sins. God is not impressed by this… RIP poor child” with Ajayi Nifemi Oritoke exclaiming: “Blood of Jesus! Send her to a psychiatric home please”.
In a rather sarcastic fashion, Abdulmajeed Abdullahi described her as the “best mother in the world”  while Akunna Ariwodo believes that nothing other than a death sentence will do justice to the crime committed.
“She deserves to die, the wicked shall not go unpunished,” he wrote.

In a show of disbelief, Arowojolu Ayanfe Bethel commented: “This is not real,it’s movie drama!” and the last respondent on the social media platform, Awoyemi Oluwatosin Oyeladun Ikunle, wrote in yoruba: “Abiyamo o, oloriburuku ni woman yii o” meaning (this woman is an unfortunate human being).
