Human Head Used As Football In Mushin, Residents Lament

Residents of Mushin area in Lagos have decried the incessant killings in the area by suspected hoodlums.
The residents, who stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly on June 16, Tuesday, in protest, disclosed how suspected hoodlums severed the head of a resident of the area, by name Tunde, and used it to play football on the streets, Tribune reports.

The protesters, led by Mr Abiodun Leshi came with various placards which had inscriptions like; “Governor Ambode, we need protection,” “Enough of these killings in Jibowu community,” “Save our children,” among others.
Pleading with the Assembly to come to their rescue, Leshi said: “We have been facing incessant killings of our people. One Tunde was beheaded and they used his head to play football.
“One Adeolu, was also killed recently, we have always been living in fear in the area and we cannot sleep with our two eyes closed, but we felt we should see you to seek a permanent solution to the problem.”
He added that another resident, Sodiq, was killed last Friday, after Jumat service and some residents have already started relocating to other areas like Ikorodu area of the state out of fear.
Addressing the protesters, Honourable Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun, the deputy speaker asked them to provide the names and address of the affected hoodlums, while promising to pass their message to relevant security agencies for prompt action.
Hoodlums are rampant all over Lagos and other cities, harassing and attacking innocent citizens. The Government has made various attempts to get these  hoodlums off the streets.
Last month, 34 suspected hoodlums were arrested by officials of the Lagos state taskforce on environmental and special offences (Enforcement) Unit.
