The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), yesterday, confirmed reports in a section of the media of the alleged attempt on the life of its founder Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah in Abuja last week.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media, TAN, Afam Ilounoh, the organization said security agents were already investigating the issue.
The statement further stated that the development calls for a sober reflection by all Nigerians given the fact the incident happened in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“We can confirm that the incident happened and it is a subject of intense investigation by security agents to unravel those behind it and their motives. For that reason we shall give limited response for now in order not to jeopardize the ongoing investigation. We shall, however, give a detailed briefing at the appropriate time.
“This incident calls for concern and a sober reflection by all Nigerians about the safety and security of lives in the country. The fact that it happened in the Federal Capital Territory makes it more worrisome.”
While thanking the security agencies for their immediate response and action, the statement however urged all Nigerians to remember the injured in prayers.
It will be recalled that TAN was in the forefront in the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan in the just concluded 2015 general elections.
