Every day Nigerians commit crimes in this country. However, they do it not only in Nigeria. Here are three Nigerians arrested abroad last week.

1. Eluma Francis Chukwubueze arrested in Vietnam

According to the Thanhniennews, Ho Chi Minh City police arrested on Saturday, 23 a Nigerian man who allegedly cheated Vietnamese women he befriended on Facebook out of US$7,000.

The police stated that he used different names and masqueraded as a rich foreign man. The source explained that he flirted with Vietnamese women on Facebook and promised to send them gifts from foreign countries. However, this charity became a crime when he asked his victims to transfer “shipping fees” into bank accounts he appointed. The estimates say that he obtained around $7,000 in the last four months.

2. Emmanuel Chukwunonye arrested in India

The Indian newspaper Tribune reported that the Chandigarh Police arrested a Nigerian in possession of 28 grams of cocaine at Sector 17 on May 23.
According to the source, the police claimed that the accused, identified as Emmanuel Chukwunonye, admitted that he procured the drug in Delhi and supplied it to youths in discotheques and pubs in the areas of Panchkula and Zirakpur with the help of local peddlers.

3. Nigerian, 42 arrested in South Africa

A Nigerian citizen was arrested in Cape Town on May, 17. A source states that the police arrested a Nigerian man for possession of drugs after more than three kilogrammes of cocaine was found in a house in Sanddrift, Cape Town.
Captain FC van Wyk, a police spokesperson, announced: “Acting on information, members of Milnerton SAPS entered a house in Sanddrift . In the house they found a Nigerian male, aged 42 years old and asked for permission to searched the premises. Officers found cash, a scale, plastic bags, and a bag containing tablet capsules, 3.2 kg of cocaine and 5 grams of tik. The value must still be determined”.
