Lagos Prophet Gets 7-Year Imprisonment

Lagos Prophet Gets 7-Year Imprisonment
Chika Izuogu brutalized by the prophet.
A Lagos prophet, Destiny Onwudinjo, has been sentenced to seven years in jail after he pleaded guilty to attempting to escape from assault trial.
According to PM News, the convict recently caused a stir at an Ejigbo Court when he suddenly jumped from the dock and ran out of the court where he was facing criminal charge of fraud and assault.

It was reported that some representatives of the prosecution and court officials ran after the suspect and managed to rearrest him.
It was gathered that Prophet Onwudinjo was standing trial for brutalizing one Chika Izuogu, an okada rider who refused to pay him N120,000 for deliverance prayer.
The assault took place at Olukosi Street, Shasha, Lagos. The convict told the victim that God revealed to him that the man needed to embark on seven days deliverance prayer so that his condition would improve for the better. Izuogu was promised a divine blessing from God.
The accused also added that an unknown person would give the Okada man N3 million which he would use to start a new life and become rich.
The prophet explained to Izuogu that the money he asked him to pay covered the fasting and other spiritual materials to be used for deliverance.
The man was finally convinced but told Onwudinjo that he would do the fasting by himself because he did not have the required amount to give him.
As a result, a fight was said to have ensued and Onwudinjo beat up and injured Izuogu.
It was gathered that neighbours alerted the police after which the prophet was arrested.

When rearrested and rearraigned, the accused pleaded guilty of trying to escape from court and assaulting Izuogu.
