The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, has lamented that why the Igbos have over 70 per cent of their investments outside their homeland, non-Igbos had not deemed it necessary to come to the South-East to invest.
The royal father, who spoke yesterday at the inaugural conference and presentation of a two-volume book: “Igbo Nation: History and Challenges of Rebirth and Development” at Igbozurume Unity Centre in Enugu, advised his people to act on the many good ideas they have.
While enjoining Igbos to think home instead of developing other lands where they sojourn, Igwe Achebe observed that the spread of Igbos and their investments in other lands have attracted them envy and hatred as was seen in the recent Xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
He was emphatic that the Igbos must develop their domain educationally, commercially, as well as direct politicians on how they want to be governed.
