Bayelsa Govt To Hold Reception For Jonathan

Bayelsa state government is to throw a civic reception for Goodluck Jonathan, the outgoing president, on May 29.

Dan Kikile, the commissioner for information, said on May 27, Wednesday, that the event would be held at the Government House, Helipad, Yenagoa.

He was quoted as saying by Leadership:

“The president will then proceed to his hometown in Otuoke, where he will be received by chiefs and his kinsmen. The president will later be hosted to a state banquet at the banquet hall in Yenagoa.

“On May 30, an inter denominational thanksgiving service will be organised at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Yenagoa, after which the president will be hosted to a state luncheon at the banquet hall, Yenagoa.”

The official further said that there would be restriction of traffic on adjourning roads to the venues for the events.
Meanwhile the final preparations are being made for the May 29 inauguration ceremony of President-elect Muhammadu Buhari.
The politician on Thursday morning arrived in Abuja after his 4-day London trip.
