APC’ll reclaim Ekiti in 2018, say Reps

A body in Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, the Ekiti Restoration Group, has pledged to mobilise resources to ensure that the party reclaims the State from the Peoples Democratic Party during the 2018 governorship poll.
The group in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday praised Nigerians for making it difficult for the PDP to rig the 2015 Presidential election won by the candidate of the APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
The statement was signed by four serving members of the House of Representatives, Bamidele Faparusi,  Bimbo Daramola, Ife Arowosoge and Oyetunde Ojo.
The group, which expressed deep concern over the state of affairs in Ekiti said there was urgent need to rescue Ekiti from Governor Ayodele Fayose-led  administration due to crisis rocking the different arms of government.
While condemning the instigation of seven members of the PDP to take over the State House of Assembly, it saluted the courage of the 19 APC lawmakers for their “doggedness, steadfastness and sacrifice,” in protecting the sanctity of the Constitution.
“We strongly condemn the present PDP led administration in Ekiti State for its nonchalant attitude towards the continued and prolonged strike of judiciary workers and the politicisation of organised labour in the state, as well as indiscriminate politically motivated detention of opposition party members.
“We congratulate and commend the National Leadership, The National Chairman, the National Executive Committee, the National Working Committee, and the entire committed members of our great party APC for the successes recorded at the just concluded general elections.
“We also congratulate APC candidates across the country for all the elective positions that they won, most especially our President and Vice President- elect, Gen Buhari and Prof Yemi Osinbajo, and of particular mention, our leader in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, now Governor- elect, Sokoto State.
“We acknowledge the unflinching support of our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu whose legendary commitment morally and intellectually, clearly affirms his leadership,” it noted.
ERG reaffirmed its determination and commitment to work with all party stakeholders to address once and for all, all contending issues within the party, so that the APC could bounce back to reckoning in the State.
