Musiliu Obanikoro |
Nigerians are divided over the confirmation of the nomination of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro as a minister by the Senate on Wenesday.The nomination of Obanikoro by President Goodluck Jonathan, was greeted with protest, especially by Senators from the opposition, All Progressives Congress, following his alleged role in the Ekiti election. The three senators from Lagos state (the state of origin of Obanikoro) also pettitioned the leadership of the Senate, urging for the disqualification of his nomination.
However, the David Mark-led Red Chamber confirmed his nomination, even as APC senators staged a walk-out.
Below are some of the reactions from the social media;

Where are the naysayers? Go and return Tinubu’s money and stop your pen attacks on Obanikoro. Your worst nightmare has just begun in Lagos.

If generational shift is what they’re championing by throwing up characters like Fayose, Obanikoro, etc then I’d rather stick with d old

How can NASS listen to the audio of #EkitiGate tape and still proceed to insult Nigerians with the approval of Obanikoro? Something is wrong

Why worry? Obanikoro has fulfilled the requirements to be a minister in a typical Jonathan administration. #Nigeria

If it’s true that Obanikoro has been confirmed as a minister, I’ll be shocked for a minute then wonder why I expected anything different.
