The Lagos State Police Command has announced that investigations into the theft of N3.4 million by burglars in the state Ministry of Justice has begun.
According to Premium Times, some staff of the ministry are currently being interrogated by the police over the burglary.
The command’s spokesperson, Kenneth Nwosu, speaking on Monday, said some staff and security personnel of the ministry have been arrested in connection with the theft.
Nwosu gave a hint of how the burglars were able to move the loads of cash.
“The burglars accessed the cash office on the 6th floor through the roof top and stole the sum of N3.4million, withdrawn to the cash office on Thursday.”
“Security men on duty and some staff are currently undergoing interrogation. It was a case of office breaking and stealing overnight reported at about 2 p.m. on Friday.”
The Ministry is under the coordination of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, who is often assisted by the solicitor-general and permanent secretary.
