Police officer kills self in Agege

The incident which happened in the evening created serious panic and chaos in the ever busy area, as residents were seen scampering to find a place to hide their heads. Reports had it that everybody in the area went into hiding on hearing the gunshot and seeing the
officer drop dead. But fresh findings have revealed that the unidentified police officer was already drunk at the time the incident occurred in the area. Preliminary investigations revealed that the officer had taken alcohol with some friends before coming around to meet his colleagues with guns. He was said to have asked one of his friends to give him a gun to hold, but the friend, seeing that the latter was drunk, refused to give out his weapon. This consequently led to an argument between the pair and the late police officer was said to have mistakenly pulled the trigger, killing himself in the process. This resorted to people coming together to check out what was happening at the Pen Cinema area of Agege. In a related development same day, a woman was crushed to death by an onrushing truck as she was about to pick her luggage which fell on the floor.
