NNPC Can't Name All Their Accounts - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari had revealed that Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has so many bank accounts that they can’t name all.

Buhari made this revelation during the African Summit in Johannesburg which was attended by many African leaders and dignitaries.

Buhari who was a petroleum minister during the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo military regime,(1976-1979) expressed shock at the development, describing it as ‘improper.

Buhari said that the NNPC had only three accounts in contrast to what the Jonathan government bequeathed: “too many accounts such that the NNPC and the ministry of finance did not know how many accounts they had.”

This comes as the NNPC on friday , confirmed the corporation is yet to remit $11.6 billion, about N2.32 trillion back to the federal coffers.
