Man Murders A Prophet


A 27-year-old man, Azeez Alimi, has been brought before  an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos , for allegedly smashing a plank on a prophet which resulted to his death.
The accused is facing a charge murder. The police  prosecutor, Corporal Iyobosa Onaiwu, told the court that the offence was committed on April 8, at No.8 Okewode Street, Lakowe, Ibeju Lekki in Lagos State.

The prosecutor said that problem started between the accused and the deceased when the late prophet asked Alimi why he was giving out his residential address.
Onaiwu said in the ensuing argument, fight broke out leading to Azeez to pick a plank that he used to hit the deceased on his head. It was reported that the prophet died on the spot.
The prosecutor pointed out that the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused plea was turned down by the court. The Chief Magistrate, Mr F.J. Adefioye, ordered that the accused be remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons custody pending further legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPPs).

The case was however adjourned  till July 15.
