Multiple award winning NGO, Pinkies Foundation, founded by Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo is in the mood of celebration as it clocks four! The group is Iyabo Ojo’s pet project which she started early 2011.
According to Iyabo Ojo,
“Pinkies Foundation is dedicated to helping and supporting kids with disability. It also helps in creating awareness among women on building a better Nigeria. The foundation assists its members in areas affecting their businesses, relationship, motherhood too.”
In the past the foundation had visited Down Syndrome Foundation, Surulere, Heart of Gold Hospice, Surulere, Lagos State Old People’s Home, Yaba, Modupe Cole, Bariga, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Ajah, Vocational Training Institute for the Blind, Oshodi among others.
In reaching out to people outside Lagos State, the Pinkies Foundation is extending its arm of love to The Family Vocational Institute for Disable in Ijoko, Ogun State on Sunday, June 14 to mark its fourth anniversary.
Among the awards received by the foundation for its charity work includes Heart of Gold Awards, Yoruba Movie Academy Awards, Adoca Awards.
It should be recalled that when Pinkies Foundation started out four years ago many never attribute it to be a reasonable foundation because it was an all-female group which many saw gracing parties in their all ink outfits. Many ladies were eager to join them asking Iyabo Ojo to pimp them for rich men.
When this did not fly, the group was termed lesbians and was never given a chance to survive thus their celebrating every anniversary of their togetherness.
