PDP Holds Back Invitations For Buhari's Inauguration

PDP Holds Back Invitations For Buhari's Inauguration
Officers in Abuja are getting ready for inauguration.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has held almost 4,000 of its own invitation cards for the handover ceremony set to be held tomorrow.
According to a source in the inauguration committee, the party intentionally hijacked the invitation cards.

The Inauguration Committee is Co-Chaired by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, and the former Bayelsa State Governor Timipre Sylva.
“We don’t want President Goodluck Jonathan to be embarrassed during the ceremony as we gather that there are plans to boo the outgoing President during the ceremony. It is imperative that we give the outgoing President a cheerful exit,” the source said.
The All Progressive Congresss (APC) has 1,300 invitation cards, reserved for local and foreign officials who have expressed interest in attending the ceremony.
Former governors, serving members and incoming members of the National Assembly, party chieftains, and members of the Inauguration Committee have been complaining they have been left out of the handover ceremony.

In a recent development, the Bayelsa State chapter of PDP, has expelled some associates and aides of President Goodluck Jonathan, over alleged anti-party activities.
