Inauguration Is Government Ceremony – APC Urges Supporters

The media team of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised the supporters of the president-elect, Muhammadu Buharito stay at home if they haven’t received an invitation for the swearing-in ceremony on May 29, Friday.

The APC gave the order via a press statement signed by Garba Shehu, head of Buhari’s media team.

Media Team of the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, wishes to inform the general public, especially members and supporters of the APC that the Presidential inauguration, coming up on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 of this month is strictly by invitation. It is a government ceremony, it is not another convention.
“We implore all our teeming supporters across the country to avoid unnecessary from all plans to move to Abuja for the ceremony in order to avoid inconveniences. Let everyone stay in their respective states and follow the proceedings on Radio and TV. While at home, pray for the success of the incoming administration and peace in the country.”
It should be noted that Buhari has returned to the country alongside his children this morning, May 28.
He is currently inspecting the presidential villa ahead of inauguration ceremony.
The president-elect, who is also former military ruler, had polled more than 15m votes, well clear of the sitting president, Goodluck Jonathan, on 12.8m, with all of the country’s 36 states declaring.
