Amaechi Shuns Wike's Inauguration Ceremony

Amaechi Shuns Wike's Inauguration Ceremony

With less than 24 hours to the expiration of their tenure, some governors have left the country refusing to be present at the hand over ceremony of their successors.
The Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi has joined the list of Governors who will not be present at the inauguration ceremony of their successors.

There have been reports that the Rivers state governor may not be present at Nyesom Wike’s inauguration as a result of the controversy surrounding the presidential and governorship elections in the state.
Amaechi, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. David Iyofor, said that he would rather be at the inauguration of the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, in Abuja.
Ahead of Friday’s inauguration of Buhari as the president of the country  the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has ordered tight security at the Eagle Square.

He has also directed AIGs, CPs to beef up security at major hotels where important dignitaries and foreign guests would be lodged.
