Edo Majority Leader tasks INEC on prosecution of alleged PVC buyers

JEGA-INEC

Leader of Edo State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives candidate for Etsako federal constituency, Mr Philip Shaibu, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to commence the prosecution of those arrested over alleged purchase of Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, from people so as to serve as a deterrent to others.

Appealing to the people of the state not to sell their PVCs so as to vote for candidates of their choice, the lawmaker urged them to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in order to end the current hardship suffered by Nigerians.
Shaibu, while campaigning in Osomegbe, Udochi, Ekperi, Okpella and Agbovo communities in Etsako Central Local Government Area, said: “Those who are still purchasing PVCs cannot stop unless they see people prosecuted for doing that. Those perpetrating this act know they cannot use it to vote if the card reader is used but in the event that the card reader is not used then it will be useful for them. “So, INEC must start prosecuting such people because the PDP has no other option than to look for any means to rig.”
