Ex-militant shot dead in Port Harcourt

An ex-militant has been shot dead in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He was suspected to have been killed by mem­bers of his cult group. The victim, simply identified as Peter, was said to be a member of a cult group known as Ice­lander.

Peter was said to have been shot dead when he attended a party organised by a female friend of a member of his cult group. Daily Sun gathered that the dead ex-militant, though not the second-in-command, was a ‘hitman’ and controlled much influ­ence in the group.

A source, who lives within the vicinity of their stronghold, who did not want his name to be print­ed, attributed his killing to disaffection in the group over his domineering ten­dencies.
