Operatives of the State Security Service on Tuesday in Abuja, arrested the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Aminu Maigari, and halted the federation’s scheduled meeting.
Also arrested was the NFF Secretary-General, Musa Amadu, and a board member, Chris Green.
The NFF president was initially arrested in July as he returned from the World Cup in Brazil, following a court order.
Maigari’s removal as the NFF president led to the suspension of Nigeria by the Federation of International Football Associations.
The suspension was lifted after Maigari was reinstated but he was later impeached by other board members on allegations of corruption. He returned to office after it was ruled that the rules were not followed in the purported impeachment.
The spokesperson for the SSS, Marilyn Ogar, could not be reached for comments as she did not respond to calls to her phone.
