– Sunday Oliseh believes the Super Eagles will defeat Egypt home and away in their                AFCON qualifiers

– Oliseh does not see enough quality in Egypt while hailing the Super Eagles defense

– Oliseh is no longer the coach of the Super Eagles having resigned in February 2016

Former Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh has predicted that he Super Eagles will beat Egypt in this month’s AFCON qualifiers home and away.

Nigeria will first welcome the seven-time African champions on March 25, before travelling to Cairo for the reverse clash on March 29. Oliseh said the current squad does not possess the quality if the Pharaoh’s from five years ago. He also argued that the the Super Eagles have found a new balance in defense which makes it difficult to concede, hence the chance to beat the former AFCON winners.

“As a Nigerian, I can assure you you should not fear the Egyptians,” he said on his personal website. “Egypt is a good team but definitely far from the Egypt of 5 years ago and our new assembled team is definitely better. “If we play with the philosophy and players I have put on ground, we will definitely beat Egypt home and away with a larger margin in Egypt!

“Remember we don’t concede easily anymore.” Nigeria resigned from his post as Super Eagles coach in late February due to what he perceived as breach of contract on the part of the NFF. Egypt top the AFCON qualifying group with six points while Nigeria are in second place with four points ahead of Tanzania and Niger.
