The plan by the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in Ekiti state to hold a sitting inside the Ekiti House of Assembly complex is currently causing tension in the capital, Ado-Ekiti.
The nation reports that thugs had surrounded the Assembly complex earlier today and waited eagerly for the lawmakers.
Thanks to policemen who kept vigil of the assembly, the thugs were not allowed inside the assembly but the hoodlums were observing events from safe distance.
The Riot policemen also conducted stop-and-and-search operation and barricaded some portions of NTA Road, State Secretariat Road and the road leading to the Judges’ Quarters.
The union members who had vehicles all parked inside the vicinity of the Government House with the unions’ members standing by.
However, this has not stopped thugs from lighting bonfires on places like Irona/Isato junction, Ijigbo Roundabout and Omisanjana junction.
Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose had clashed with 19 APC lawmakers over the alleged nonpayment of salaries and other entitlements of the legislators.
