Senator-elect, Dr Bukola Saraki, has emerged as the President-elect of the eight Senate in an election where he was the only candidate nominated. He has already been sworn in.
In a tension soaked National Assembly inauguration, Senator Bukola Saraki defied all entries from the All Progressive Party to assuage him for Senate President’s position.
Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima in a surprise motion moved for the nomination of Bukola Saraki. There was no one present to nominate Senator Ahmed Lawan.
The motion seconded by Senator Dino Melaye was agreed on consensus.
DAILY POST findings show that the Party hierarchy earlier this morning agreed to Saraki’s ambition so as not to polarise the party.
Senator Ike Ekweremadu has equally been nominated for the Deputy Senate President’s position.
