Boko Haram Reportedly Attacks Chad Police Academy

At least one suicide bomber who is considered to be Boko Haram member attacked the Police Headquarters in the capital of Nigeria’s neighbour Chad, N’Djamena.
Reports also say that one of bombers attacked the police academy where a graduation ceremony was going on. At least 30 cadets were reportedly killed.

Meanwhile, one witness at the police station told Reuters that he had seen three corpses.
Bireme Hamid, Interior Minister Abderahim said security forces had sealed down the region but the situation was enduring. He said it was too early to give any death toll from the occurrence.
I can confirm that it was a suicide attack,” he said.
Chad has become a major assistant in the fight against the insurgency across West Africa, playing a significant role in assaults on al Qaeda-linked groups in Mali and Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria.
It should be mentioned that there have been a number of attacks near Chad’s border with Nigeria.
Meantime, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered $2m of the $100m Nigeria promised to the Multinational Joint Task Force be released within the week to defeat the Boko Haram insurgency.
The joint force, based in the Chad capital Ndjamena, will be up and running by July 30 with a permanent Nigerian leader, a concession to Buhari’s opposition to rotating commanders.
