Some children in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja have described the First Lady, Patience Jonathan as very generous and likable.
Patience had hosted some Nigerian children to a party to mark this year’s Children’s Day celebration on May 27, Wednesday, in Abuja.
Some of the children spoke to NAN during the event, showering praises on the outgoing First Lady. They said they were going to miss her.
One of the children, Ms Marissa Okorie said: “Mummy Peace is very like-able and generous; she is always smiling and those are some of the things we will miss.”
Another child, Master Bolaji Oguns, said: “I like the way she dances and plays with us whenever we come to the Villa for parties; I pray the new first lady will be dancing with us and giving us gifts during party.”
According to Patience, it was the last party she would be celebrating with children and youths in the presidential villa as her husband will be handing over power to a new government led by Muhammadu Buhari on May 29.
She used the occasion to express her gratitude to the children and youths for their love and respect while she was in office.
The president’s wife also advised them to remain good and obedient children to their parents and also patriotic to the nation.
Patience added that the future is bright for them, while expressing optimism in their ability to excel.
Patience Jonathan and her husband, President Goodluck Jonathan will be vacating the presidential villa tomorrow, May 29 and the new government led by Buhari will be coming in.
Some days back, Patience said she will support Hajia Aisha Buhari, the wife of the incoming president. “I will make sure that I support my sister, the incoming First Lady, to make sure Nigerian women are safe,” she said.
