President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of vice chancellors and chancellors of four federal universities of education.
Notice of the appointment was contained in a statement signed by the senior special assistant, public relations and protocol to the education minister, Sule Ya’u.
The statement listed Professor Martins Aghaji as the vice-chancellor for the Federal University of Health Science, Otukpo, while His Royal Highness Chukwuemela Nnam is the chancellor; Professor Richard Peters-King as the vice-chancellor, Adeyemi University of Education, Ondo, while Awal Ibrahim as the chancellor; Professor Sadiq Zubair Abubakar as the vice-chancellor, of Alvan Ikoku University of Education, Owerri, while Najib Hussein Adamu as the chancellor; Professor Victor Olusegun as the vice-chancellor of Federal University of Education, Kano while Oba Yusuf Adebori as the chancellor.
The President also approved Professor Ibrahim Kolo as vice-chancellor of Federal University of Education, Zaria, as Eze Green Onyekaba is appointed as chancellor.
The Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta state has professor Faruk Umar Faruk as chancellor.
The statement also noted that the appointment was with immediate effect. Adding that President Jonathan had also approved the appointment of Dr Nnamdi Olebara, the Special Adviser, Media to Shekarau, as member, Governing Council of Alvan Ikoku University of Education, Owerri.
In a related development the president has approved the appointment of new Chancellors for all the 38 Federal Universities across the country.
