Delta State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked the Benin division of the Court of Appeal to set aside the judgement by Justice Nduka Obi ordering the conduct of a fresh congress to elect new officers of the party in the state.
The state executive committee of APC led by Prophet Jones Ode Erue lodged the appeal through its counsel, A. M. Mukoro.
In the Notice of Appeal, APC urged the Court of Appeal in Benin to reverse Justice Obi’s judgement on the grounds that the decision of the Asaba High Court occasioned a miscarriage of justice.
Mukoro also confirmed that the party had filed a motion for stay of execution of the judgement pending the determination of the appeal.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Delta State chapter of APC, Prophet Erue, has commended Nigerians for supporting the party in the just-concluded general elections and voting en masse for President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari and APC governorship standard-bearer in the state, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor.
He, however, urged aggrieved members of APC in the state to support his leadership to strengthen the party.
